Mobius Materials is an online marketplace used by contract manufacturers and OEMs to directly buy and sell excess electronic parts. These include integrated circuits, discrete semiconductors, optoelectronics, etc. from manufacturers like Microchip, Texas Instruments, ON Semiconductor, NXP Semiconductors, FTDI, WIZnet, ST Microelectronics, and Allegro Microsystems.

Customers not only save up to 70% on commonly used parts, but they also contribute to a greener planet as those parts otherwise would have ended up in landfills.

Mobius Materials team got in touch with us looking to design an online marketplace for their electronic parts business. They already had a basic website and we were tasked with re-designing it using Figma with additional product listing pages. After developing a thorough understanding of the user experience the client needed and our research, we started creating the site map.

Mobius Materials website was designed in Figma while the prototyping work was done using Tailwind stylings.

We conducted thorough user experience research to identify user behaviors, needs, and motivations in the electronic parts business. It ensured that the final website would be in sync with potential customers.

Mobius Materials is now a leading online component marketplace for buying certified electronic parts that would have otherwise landed in landfills. All the components undergo rigorous authenticity checks like X-ray, XRF testing, SCAM microscopy, and Machine Learning based inspection to ensure that only authentic quality products reach customers. We continue to partner with them as their design team, building new features and user experiences.
